You Choose Title

*Please note: this essay is entirely based on the readings from the text. Do not do outside research. Do not cite outside authors or texts. Make sure you answer the prompt exactly as it is put forth below. Choose any three articles in chapter 22 (you may choose even the ones not assigned from pp. 520 to 567.) Write a four to five page essay (page count does not include the works cited page) in which you discuss the arguments put forth by each author. Introductory paragraph with the thesis located as the last line. Underline the thesis, so I can clearly see it. Your thesis will have a subject and a focus or argument and may look like this: Model Thesis: Popular culture strongly influences ones sense of self as is clearly illustrated in the articles, Little Girls or Little Woman, Toddlers in Tiaras, and Disability and the Media. You may use this model thesis exactly as is or tweaked. Obviously, list the articles that you are discussing as appropriate. The body paragraphs that follow will discuss the articles listed in the thesis in the order presented. You will have several paragraphs per article to illustrate your thesis that popular culture strongly influences ones sense of self. Every time you reference the article, make sure to have an in text citation in MLA format. Your narration should be impersonal. Do not talk about yourself, your opinions or your experiences. Conclusion: Tie together the content of the previous paragraphs. Draw it all together. In this section, for my class, I invite you to put your personal observations and experiences in this last paragraph. Works cited page: Must be in MLA format. Follow the template (MLA Formatted Paper) given in week 4. . It is really easy. There is not excuse for not formatting your paper and your works cited page in MLA format. Just plug your info into the template. You will need to have THREE items listed on your works cited page. The items are the THREE articles you chose to discuss. Do not simply put Everything’s an Argument as your sources. List each article separately Again, just copy the exact format found in the week 4 item MLA Formatted Paper.
